Who You Are:

The candidate will be a key member of a team at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) working to transition the transportation sector to a zero-carbon footprint. The position can be 100% remote

 

 

What You'll Do:

To reduce greenhouse gas and black carbon emissions from the transportation sector, as required by New Jersey’s Energy Master Plan, the Global Warming Response Act and the EV Law, the candidate will support NJDEP, and other State agencies such as the NJ Department of Transportation, NJ Economic Development Authority, and NJ Board of Public Utilities, in crafting and implementing a suite of new clean transportation rules, policies and grant programs. This will involve technical research and analysis on a variety of State and Federal programs and regulations to reduce emissions from light - medium- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Tasks include designing reports, completing timely research and analysis, preparing presentation materials, conducting outreach and education for regulated entities, help the data team process incoming data, and perform data analysis.

What You Bring:

BA/BS degree. 3+ years of experience in electric vehicle research/analysis, technical knowledge of electric vehicles and electric vehicles charging standards, hardware and software, and knowledge of the latest developments in the clean transportation technology market and U.S. State Policy sector. Experience in leading projects and programs, including strategy, planning, and project management. Ability to conduct in- depth research of scientific literature, market studies, and business trends and develop summaries and recommendations.

Ability to analyze data to develop projections, models, and analyze various scenarios. This includes strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with federal mobile source emission models, such as MOVES, GREET, and/or AFLEET.
