Continued opportunities for growth require that we add environmental project manager to our staff in both our Oyster Bay, LI and Hudson Valley (East Fishkill) offices.

We work on diverse civil engineering and environmental consulting projects for public and private clients throughout Long Island, New York City, and the lower Hudson Valley.  

Who You Are:

To fill this role, experienced environmental project managers at Walden must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, an in-depth understanding of consulting in an environmental or civil engineering firm, and demonstrate the masterful ability to manage client relations, perform business development, and mold future environmental professionals by mentoring and managing younger staff.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as the liaison between Walden, our clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform business development work like writing proposals, lead cultivation, and pitching Walden services to existing or potential clients.
  • Work in close collaboration with other PMs and staff.
  • Assign staff work based on their strengths and individual goals.
  • Actively work on client projects.
  • Perform site investigations to assess and document field conditions.
  • Perform due diligence and site feasibility studies.
  • Produce well-structured and thought-out recommendation reports based on field inspections and observations.
  • Develop site designs, including site layout, production equipment layouts, grading and storm drainage, roadway, and utility infrastructure.
  • Develop construction design documents and specifications for a full range of environmental and civil engineering projects.
  • Prepare cost estimates for design projects and specifications for bid documents.
  • Develop bid documents and perform bid management/analysis.
  • Oversee engineering design and manage construction projects.
  • Be knowledgeable of building, mechanical, energy, and fire codes; state and city solid waste and air pollution codes; and ASTM, ASCE, and NFPA standards.
  • Respond to and address regulatory comments to obtain agency approvals.
  • Perform hydrology and hydraulic calculations and be knowledgeable of NYSDEC stormwater drainage requirements.
  • Interact with clients and provide them with clear recommendations while advising them of their responsibilities and options.
  • Develop and enforce health and safety plans.

What You Bring:

  • BS or MS in environmental or civil engineering, geology, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Our experienced PMs are required to have at least 8 years of post-Bachelor’s experience.

  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), Professional Geologist (P.G.),  or in the process of obtaining the same.

  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Workspace).

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to produce thorough reports with a masterful attention to detail.

  • Understanding of relevant Federal, State, and local regulations.

  • Ability to work independently and collectively with other staff.

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and 10-hour Construction Safety training.
    Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and travel to jobsites.

Salary: $110,000-$150,000 annually.
