Who You Are:

An Inventory Specialist will be tasked with tracking, recording, and photographing incoming inventory which will be made up primarily of laboratory and pharmaceutical equipment. There is an expectation that up to 30% of this job will require domestic travel. Duties will include completing the company’s inventory procedure to assure incoming equipment is published to our website in a timely manner, they will also be responsible for maintaining accuracy of inventory locations throughout the warehouse and performing inventory reconciliation when errors are found. Inventory specialists will also assist our sales staff in collecting and preparing equipment for customer demonstrations.

What You'll Do:

Primary Duties

  • Merchandise, Catalog, and Photograph Equipment.
  • Traveling up to 50% of the time to off-site laboratories and pharmaceutical facilities to perform our inventory process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Reconcile inventory differences between physical stock and digital data.
  • Assist sales staff with locating and getting equipment ready for presentation to a customer.
  • Act as a point of contact for the company while off-site working in a client or customers lab or facility.
  • Digitally manage inventory and create inventory reports.
  • Breaking down and removal of packing materials used to ship equipment to our facility.
  • Assist technicians in moving, locating, and preparing equipment for repairs/testing/evaluation.
  • Track Inventory as it enters the warehouse and makes its way to the inventory queue.
  • Select shipments to inventory on a first-in first-out (FIFO) basis unless otherwise specified.
  • Effectively and efficiently merchandise and organize individual shipments. This requires unpacking equipment from crates, boxes, etc.
  • Move Equipment in and out of the photo studio using forklifts, pallet jacks, tables, etc.
  • Record relevant data in a spreadsheet and upload photographs to a computer for processing.
  • Travel to client facilities to perform the inventory process on equipment being purchased or consigned by SSLLC.
  • Coordinate with our point of contact on-site in order to navigate their labspace, while also merchandising, labeling, photographing, and overseeing the removal of all equipment in the purchase or consignment agreement.
  • Perform inventory location audits in the warehouse and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Discard packing materials removed from equipment upon its arrival.

 

Work Context

  • Communication - This position will be required to travel off-site to laboratories and pharmaceutical facilities where they will have to communicate effectively with their Point of contact at this site and with their teammates back at the headquarters in Woonsocket.
  • Responsibility for Others - This position will not be responsible for any other parties.
  • Conflictual Contact - This is a relatively conflict-free position.
  • Work Setting - Work will take place in a warehouse setting in Woonsocket, RI. It will also take place at laboratories and pharmaceutical facilities, primarily in the Boston/Cambridge area, and occasionally in other parts of the United States.
  • Body Positioning - This position will spend upwards of 75% of their time working on their feet.
  • Work Attire - Casual Attire when working in the warehouse. Business Casual attire when working at a client facility.
  • Routine versus Challenging Work - This position will frequently require routine work. It will be the same processes with an innumerable number of changing variables day to day.
  • Pace and Scheduling - Because we are working to get equipment published to our website as fast as possible, pace and scheduling play a big role in our day to day activities. When working at a client facility it is important to be able to work at a good pace to ensure all necessary work is completed in the allotted time- frame. When working in the warehouse we must work at a pace that allows us to keep space clear for potential incoming deliveries.

 

What You Bring:

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED)

 

Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM a plus.
  • Experience using photo editing software a plus.
  • Photography experience a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs on a regular basis.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Forklift experience a plus.
  • Experience in a lab or manufacturing setting is a major plus.
  • Hands on experience with electronics, computers, etc.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Occasional weekend travel may be necessary.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Experience using Google Sheets a plus.
  • Experience using Microsoft OneDrive a plus.
