Who You Are

We are a growing immigration practice looking to add an Legal Assistant to our team. We offer an outstanding, team-oriented work environment, with opportunity for long-term growth. The right candidate will have experience handling a high volume of phone calls and administrative tasks, as well as, strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and take direction. Must have experience using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. We are looking for someone to grow with our firm.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities

  • Answering and directing phone calls;
  • Filing;
  • Scanning incoming and outgoing mail;
  • Preparing mail for shipping;
  • Scheduling appointments; and
  • Being the initial point-of-contact for our clients and potential clients.

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent experience;
  • 2 years of legal assistant experience;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills;
  • Experience using Microsoft Office/Google Office suite;
  • Must be able to take initiative and be comfortable asking questions when necessary to complete tasks correctly;
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish a must;
  • Must be punctual, responsible, and reliable; and
  • Open to taking on new responsibilities and challenging tasks.

Prior experience working for a law firm or not-for-profit that handles immigration matters is a plus.

Language:

  • Bilingual a plus

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • New York, NY 10004: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

What We Offer

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.88 - $22.62 per hour

Benefits:

  • Paid time off

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
