Mechanical Engineer

Jamison Door specializes in manufacturing and selling various types of doors, including HCR Recirculatory Air Doors, Cold Storage Doors, High-Speed Fabric and Steel Rollup Doors, Jamotuf Doors, Sound Reduction doors, Specialty Doors, and Jamoclean Doors.

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving established product lines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Improves existing product lines and develops new products.
• Makes engineering decisions based on proper material choice, manufacturing techniques, cost and sound engineering principles.
• Provides engineering calculations as required by jobs for door design or customer information.
• Visits sites to see existing products in the field.
• Resolves manufacturing problems in coordination with the factory as needed and develops a relationship with factory personnel to promote information exchange.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer skills required:
  • CAD and Microsoft Office experience.
• Other skills required:
  • Experience with Pro/Engineer preferred.
  • Technically competent, quick study, and excellent people skills.

• Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
• Occasionally exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
