Accountant

An Accountant with foundational accounting skills and experience translating analytical findings into solutions is being sought to join a 75-employee company in Lower Midtown, New York. The ideal candidate should have around three years of experience and be eager to advance their career with a company known worldwide for its creative products. The company is focused on preparing the organization for additional acquisitions, while it absorbs recent acquisitions. The role Accountant Analyst will work with NetSuite, managing financial information and contribute toward the company's objectives. This hybrid position requires someone with an inquisitive mindset that is comfortable working in a dynamic environment supporting, developing, and controlling initiatives.

• Manage accounting and analysis responsibilities, including supporting newly acquired businesses and participating in the monthly financial close process.
• Monthly reporting of financial results to management and publicly traded parent company as well as participating in commentary versus budget and plan.
• Assist with the development of budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborate with local and parent company finance teams and business operations to ensure knowledge and information is shared.
• Support the integration of acquired entities into NetSuite.
• Communicate effectively with management and external partners, including technical consultants while streamlining and expanding NetSuite processes.
• Help train team members to develop in their roles within the organization.

Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred. 

Experience: 2+ years experience in accounting required 

Accounting: Strong foundational skills in accounting preferred. Experience in public accounting and/or exposure to wholesale/distribution arrangements helpful.

Analysis: Experience translating knowledge and findings into solutions.

NetSuite: Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP, with the ability to work on implementations and continual operating and systems improvements.

Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial concepts and ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, across the organization.

Excel Proficiency: Proficient in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.

Mindset: Seeking an individual with an inquisitive mindset toward continually improving processes.
