Who You Are

The Inventory and Warehouse Technician is responsible for receiving, inspecting, staging, and preparing laboratory and industrial equipment for resale through auction or direct sale. This role supports accurate inventory intake, professional equipment staging, and hands-on packaging, including crating and foam-in-place protection of sensitive items.

What You'll Do

· - Receive and inspect inbound equipment deliveries; validate condition and item count.

· - Apply SSLLC asset labels and ensure proper entry into inventory systems.

· - Stage equipment for photography with clear visibility of labels and serial numbers.

· - Assist with professional photo documentation of assets.

· - Safely move, organize, and store incoming and outgoing equipment using forklifts and pallet jacks.

· - Identify key visible data points (model number, manufacturer, serial) for intake and resale tracking.

· - Collaborate with sourcing and pricing teams to prioritize high-value or time-sensitive assets.

· - Package equipment securely for internal movement, sale, or shipment.

· - Build custom wooden crates for sensitive items as needed.

· - Apply foam-in-place or alternative packaging methods for shock-sensitive components.

· - Wrap, strap, palletize, and label outgoing equipment for freight.

· - Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of warehouse and staging areas.

· - Report any discrepancies, damages, or incomplete shipments promptly.

What You Bring

Preferred Skills and Experience:

· - 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or equipment handling environment.

· - Prior experience with packaging, crating, or foam-in-place systems strongly preferred.

· - Familiarity with lab or biotech equipment is a plus.

· - Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory systems.

· - Ability to read and interpret equipment labeling and documentation.

· - Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).

· - Capable of lifting 50–75 lbs and working on feet throughout shift.

 

Work Environment:

· - Mix of climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled warehouse environments.

· - Hands-on work with varied lab and industrial equipment, some requiring special handling.

· - May assist with off-site pickups or relocations involving rigging or transport coordination.
