Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a rare, chronic, and life-threatening disease of the lungs for which no cure currently exists. Our mission is to extend and improve the lives of those affected by PH. Who You Are

The Pulmonary Hypertension Association’s professional education programs include live virtual educational opportunities and online courses housed on PHA’s learning management system. Educational programs target various health care professional disciplines at different career stages, including trainees/fellows, early career professionals, and practicing professionals.

 

The Professional Education Program Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact with external stakeholders for the logistics for PHA’s live virtual education events. This position reports to the Professional Education Program Manager and works closely with health care professionals and the Professional Education Program Manager to achieve PHA’s professional education goals.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the main point of contact with individuals or organizations requesting live virtual grand rounds from PHA by reviewing program request forms, scheduling programs to meet the availability of faculty, learners, and planners, and providing overall support for live events.
  • Support faculty for live virtual events by providing presentation slides and communicating presentation requirements, troubleshooting technical issues with the presentation platform and processing speaker honoraria or reimbursements as necessary.
  • Publish online, enduring courses for PHA’s recorded course library, PHA Online University, by working with faculty to record course presentations, performing basic video edits to finished courses, and loading the course into PHA’s learning management system.
  • Support participants of PHA’s live virtual grand rounds and PHA’s online CME course platform by tracking attendance and enrollment, communicating requirements for claiming CME certificates, monitoring chat and Q&A during live events, supporting users with obtaining certificates and transcripts, troubleshooting online course access and distributing and collecting evaluation feedback.
  • Maintain image licensing and copyright requirements by purchasing image use permissions or tracking open access permissions through Creative Commons or by contacting the original copyright holder.
  • Assist in maintaining continuing medical education accreditation for PHA’s professional education activities by collecting and submitting accreditation documentation and reports including author/presenter biographies and curriculum vitae (CV) and conflict of interest (COI) disclosures, and written permission to utilize images and videos.
  • Work with the Professional Education Program Manager to support the creation and distribution of program and activity evaluations to measure program effectiveness and generate online activity reports and program outcomes for internal and external stakeholders, including accredited providers and vendors.
  • Support PHA’s Professional Mentorship Program participants by scheduling initial connection meetings and sending evaluation requests and reminders.
  • Work with the Professional Education Program Manager and the Communications & Marketing department to promote events and new educational resources through PHA’s communications channels and support registration for PHA’s professional conferences and live and virtual continuing education opportunities for reaching new audiences

What You Bring

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in adult learning, preferably in a healthcare, academic, or non-profit setting, and/or CME program management.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a scientific or public health or related field.
  • Highly organized, detailed, and process-oriented, with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
  • Expert time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with various constituents, including PH patients, caregivers, medical professionals, medical writers, accredited providers, vendors, donors, and sponsors.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member and independently with minimum supervision on multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Learning Management Systems.

What We Offer

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Professional Education Program Manager.

 

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS SUMMARY

  • $58,000-$62,000 per year
  • Minimum 3 weeks paid annual leave (15 days); all federal holidays (11 days); and four (4) personal days plus office closure for Holiday break (5 days at end of year).
  • Two weeks of paid sick leave.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The working conditions are typical of a remote office environment. Work may require some weekend travel and/or evening work and domestic travel.
