Who You Are

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of custom workholding. You will take customer specifications and translate them into part drawings and assemblies, primarily based on our standard product lines. The ideal candidate has CAD experience, strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

What You'll Do

  • Review customer specifications and create detailed part drawings for one-off specials derived from our standard product offerings. 
  • Design and develop new mechanical and electromechanical products from concept through to production-ready documentation. 
  • Produce accurate 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings for manufacturing. 
  • Select appropriate materials and components based on design requirements and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Prepare supporting engineering documentation including BOMs (Bills of Materials), assembly instructions, and technical user manuals. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance to ensure seamless product development. 
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, best practices, and project timelines. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and product optimization. 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering/ design related experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering. 
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo). Required  
  • Solid understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes. 
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. 
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. 
  • Experience with documentation tools and processes such as BOM creation and technical writing is required. 

 

Preferred Attributes: 

  • Workholding experience
  • Exposure to design for manufacturability (DFM). 
  • Familiarity with industry standard
