Who You Are

Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) is seeking an energetic, sales-driven and business-to-business (B2B) focused marketing leader for this strategic role in the communication of TAG’s mission and value to the innovation ecosystem. This position seeks to learn and implement ways TAG can serve the technology community, with first-class experiences and top-level content, driving engagement among business leaders, corporate partners, and industry stakeholders.                                                               

What You'll Do

The Technology Association of Georgia’s Senior Director, Marketing and Communications must have experience in the following areas:

 

Marketing & Communications Strategy

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to enhance TAG’s visibility and engagement within the technology community.
  • Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and storytelling to ensure a cohesive and compelling narrative across all channels.
  • Manage digital marketing efforts, including email campaigns, website content, social media, and paid media strategies, to maximize reach and impact.

 

Event Promotion & Support

  • Collaborate with the events team to develop marketing campaigns that drive attendance, sponsorships, and engagement for TAG’s 150+ annual events, including major conferences like the Georgia Technology Summit and Fintech South, as well as monthly member events.
  • Create promotional materials, digital content, scripts and media partnerships to increase awareness and participation in TAG programs and initiatives.

 

Public Relations & Media Engagement

  • Lead TAG’s PR efforts to secure media coverage, industry recognition, and thought leadership opportunities for TAG executives and key initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, press releases, and external communications.

 

Sponsorship & Partner Engagement

  • Support partner and sponsor engagement by developing co-branded marketing opportunities, ensuring sponsor visibility, and enhancing value propositions.
  • Assist in creating marketing assets that showcase TAG’s impact, including case studies, success stories, and thought leadership content.

 

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead a team of marketing and communication professionals, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, volunteers, and society leaders to amplify TAG’s reach and ensure alignment across initiatives.

 

Membership Retention & Lead Generation

  • Develop and implement targeted campaigns to increase member retention and engagement, showcasing TAG’s value and proposition.
  • Utilize data-driven strategies, digital outreach, and community engagement initiatives to attract new members and expand TAG’s network

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or brand management, ideally in membership, association, or technology-focused organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, content strategy, public relations, and event promotion.
  • Excellent storytelling, copywriting, and messaging skills with a data-driven approach to measuring marketing effectiveness.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with media, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Experience in fundraising, sponsorships, or partner development is a plus.
  • B2B marketing experience with a strong understanding of multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in executive communications and PR copywriting.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing and communications roles, with a track record of success in driving engagement and growth.
  • Proven experience managing external agencies and overseeing the development of marketing assets to support organizational goals.
  • Hands-on experience selecting, implementing, and optimizing MarTech platforms, including CRM, social media management, and campaign automation tools.
