CPA & CPA Tax Manager

Large Texas based tax firm, office in San Antonio is adding to the team due to growth. The Tax Manager will be developing team members and leading diverse engagements. • Manage multiple clients and demonstrate knowledge of clients’ business
• Lead meetings with clients for strategic planning and implementation
• Represent clients before tax authorities
• Review tax returns for compliance quality and coach staff on improvement processes
• Monitor progress of engagements of assigned clients in relation to budgets and due dates
• Represent the firm in the community; build new and existing client relationships
• Train and advise staff on tax developments; review and evaluate work
• Develop and mentor staff through communication and teaching
• Oversee and schedule other team members

• Lead and manage multiple tax engagements, ensuring timely and accurate filings for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Provide strategic tax planning and compliance services, identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
• Review complex tax returns and research technical tax issues to ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters.
• Mentor and develop junior tax staff, providing training and guidance.
• Stay current with tax law changes and advise clients accordingly.
• Assist in business development efforts, including identifying and cultivating new client opportunities.

• CPA designation a must
• Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-10 years of accounting and professional networking experience
• Experience in a public accounting; focus on Tax (individual, business, partnership, estate, and trusts)
• 3+ years progressive supervisory experience
• Ability to direct the work of team members, work under pressure
• Tax experience with business, individuals, and estate planning
• CPA or EA designation required .
• Expertise in federal and state tax regulations.
• Experience preferred on tax software such as QuickBooks, Lacerte, Proconnect.
• Strong foundation in Tax and software structure - IT / Tech Savvy
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and client management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
