Who You Are

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mass Spectrometry Service Engineer to join our technical services team. This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mass spectrometry systems at our RI facility and at customer sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mass spectrometry instrumentation and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality technical support and customer service. 

What You'll Do

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain mass spectrometry instruments (e.g., LC-MS, GC-MS, MALDI-TOF). 
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues related to instrumentation. 
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers. 
  • Train users on instrument operation, maintenance, and best practices. 
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues. 
  • Ensure timely and professional service delivery to meet customer expectations. 
  • Stay informed on new technologies and updates in mass spectrometry. 

What You Bring

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience working with or servicing mass spectrometry systems. 
  • Familiarity with chromatography systems (HPLC/UPLC/GC) and their integration with MS. 
  • Strong mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills. 
  • Proficiency with instrument control software and data analysis tools. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, including occasional international travel. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • OEM training or certification on major MS platforms (e.g., Thermo Fisher, Agilent, SCIEX, Bruker, Waters). 
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., GMP, GLP, ISO). 
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS). 
  • Ability to work independently and manage service schedules effectively.
