Accounting and Tax Associate

This position requires excellent communication skills. Attention to detail, the ability to work in a demanding environment and manage multiple tasks as well as maintain confidential information.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and handling sales and use tax related to goods purchased and sold by each entity across various states as well as support the accounting team with daily and monthly operational activities.

• · Provide guidance on sales and use tax best practices, liabilities and applicable rates
• · Design and implement effective and accurate sales and use tax procedures
• · Monitor the application and accuracy of sales and use tax
• · Establish and maintain up-to-date client records
• · Prepare and files sales and use tax returns, ensuring full compliance with various state requirements
• · Support audit processes by gathering financial documentation and coordinating with auditors as needed
• · Perform daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations (e.g., payroll, bank, accruals, prepayments)
• · Organize and analyze financial data to support decision making
• · Other duties as assigned

• · Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university in accounting
• · Computer skills required:
  • o Accounting Software; Contract Management Systems; Development Software; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite
• · Other skills required:
  • o Analytical and accounting skills
  • o Strong written and oral communication skills to explain information
  • o Familiarity with sales and use tax preparation and accounting software and electronic tax filing systems
  • o Strong time management skills
