Who You Are

Yotta Energy is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Finance and Accounting to oversee all aspects of the company’s finance and accounting functions. This role is instrumental in ensuring strong financial controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and preparing the company for long-term growth. This position reports directly to the CEO. The Director will also be responsible for building and leading a high-performing finance and accounting team as Yotta Energy scales.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support business growth and decision-making
  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
  • Support capital raising efforts and investor reporting as needed
  • Build and lead a finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and financial performance

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting leadership roles, investment banking, consulting, venture capital, private equity, or other relevant fields
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards
  • Proven ability to lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting in a growth-stage environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, mentor, and manage teams
  • Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills
  • Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Excel or ability to learn new systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the energy, cleantech, or manufacturing sectors
  • Familiarity with capital fundraising and investor relations
  • Background in building financial teams and systems in a startup or scale-up company
