Who You Are

The Inventory & Receiving Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, monitoring stock movements, and ensuring the timely and efficient flow of products through the warehouse facility. This role involves overseeing and coordinating the receipt of goods into the warehouse and warehouse management system. This involves the proper coordinating of inventory management processes, conducting cycle counts, and reporting discrepancies in inventory to the Inventory Control Manager.

What You'll Do

  • Receiving Shipments:
    • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage.
    • Sort products by SKU number if required.
    • Verify quantities shipped versus quantities delivered, and product descriptions against purchase orders or packing list.
    • Process and record receipts of inventory into the warehouse management system.
    • Report any instances of large inventory variances to the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Inventory Management
  • Track and maintain accurate inventory levels through daily cycle counts and audits.
  • Report any instances of large inventory discrepancies to the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Follow FIFO principles in routine storing of inventory and effectively keep track of upcoming expiring goods, including the physical removal of expired goods.
  • Monitor stock movements (receiving, put away process, and routine clean up and consolidation of inventory) and ensure accurate data entry is maintained throughout the system.
  • Prepare for stock replenishment by keeping the warehouse bin locations clean and replenish inventory when pickable locations are low on inventory.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments:
  • Communicate effectively with appropriate warehouse staff, including site supervisor to ensure efficient processing of received goods.
  • Work closely with Inventory Control Manager to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including locating lost items or investigating overages/shortages.
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies related to inventory handling and storage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient inventory storage environment.

What You Bring

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in an inventory related role or warehouse environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
