Who We Are

We're building the future of space access by designing and delivering high-performance satellite platforms that scale from early demonstration missions to full constellations. Our integrated bus-and-payload approach gives customers a faster, more reliable path from concept to orbit. If you're passionate about energy systems and want your work to fly—literally—we'd love to meet you.

As an early-stage startup, we're wearing many hats to support each other and deliver the best systems for our customers. While we don’t yet have dedicated office or lab space, both are in development and expected to be available in the coming months.

Who You Are

We’re looking for an engineer to lead and advance the design of our spacecraft solar arrays and power subsystems. This includes sizing and architecting array and battery solutions, managing power budgets, and supporting subsystem integration across mission types. You'll help define the power architecture from early concepts through flight hardware delivery.

We welcome candidates across a range of experience levels, from mid-level engineers with deep technical fluency to seasoned contributors who can lead subsystem development.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and design power systems for satellite missions, including solar arrays, batteries, and collaborate closely with the power electronics team
  • Size and model array and power storage solutions to meet mission power and energy requirements
  • Define and manage end-to-end power budgets across operating modes and mission phases
  • Perform trade studies on solar and battery module designs and system control architectures to optimize efficiency and reliability while minimizing degradation effects.
  • Support environmental and functional testing of power subsystems (e.g., TVAC, solar simulation) to correlate solar and battery models over all satellite mission environments
  • Work closely with avionics, thermal, mechanical, and systems teams for flight integration and verification
  • Define and lead qualification and lifetime testing at the component, subsystem, and vehicle levels, ensuring performance and reliability across all phases of development.
  • Interface with suppliers and manufacturers to deliver production-ready hardware – some travel may be required.

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years designing and analyzing space power systems, including solar arrays and batteries
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft power architectures, conversion, regulation, and energy storage
  • Familiarity with solar cell technologies and battery chemistries (e.g., Li-ion). Additionally, experience working with live high-capacity batteries is a must.
  • Experience with power lab test equipment including PV and Battery simulators, High voltage power supplies, Frequency Response Analyzers, Oscopes, Power Analyzers, etc.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as spice, PSIM, Simplis, Ansys, etc. as well as moderate fluency in scripting languages (e.g. python).
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
  • Experience in designing and verifying analog and digital closed-loop control systems and a deep understanding of stability criteria in such systems
  • Experience designing, packaging, and testing power systems for electromagnetic compliance

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of radiation effects on power electronics and degradation of solar materials
  • Experience with deployable solar array structures and mechanisms
  • Familiarity with qualification standards for space power systems (e.g., ECSS, NASA-STD)
  • Experience with high current fault protection and transient effects on the satellite bus

What We Offer
