Who You Are

The Staff Accountant – Will support the Controller in day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and special projects. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, detail-oriented, and looking to grow in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and maintain accurate payment records.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations; assist in month-end and year-end closings.

  • Bank & Account Reconciliations: Perform daily cash reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution.

  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and related tasks.

  • Audit & Compliance: Assist in preparing schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits; ensure adherence to GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements.

  • Job Costing: Allocate labor, materials, and overhead costs to projects; maintain accurate job cost reports; assist in tracking project profitability.

  • Special Projects: Assist the Controller with financial modeling, process improvements, and accounting system implementation.

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; Associate’s degree with strong experience considered.

  • Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics.

  • 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate, construction, or service industry environment.

  • Basic knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Eager to learn and grow professionally.
