Who You Are

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring a team of engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that meet business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic vision to manage engineering projects from concept through completion. The Engineering Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including product, operations, and executive leadership to align engineering priorities with organizational goals.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of engineers, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Define, implement, and optimize engineering processes, best practices, and tools to improve team productivity and efficiency.
  • Partner with product management and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and decision-making support on architecture, design, and problem-solving.
  • Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and forecasting for the engineering team.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering methods, technologies, and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (as applicable to industry).
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent to support organizational growth.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Skills & Competencies

    • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across teams and levels.
    • Solid understanding of engineering principles, technologies, and tools relevant to the organization (e.g., software, mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering depending on industry).
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance technical details with business priorities.
    • Proficient in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
    • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

What We Offer

Position Salary:

150k-200k

Effective 06/1/2025 NJ passed a Pay Transparency Law which requires NJ based hiring to include a compensation range on each job posting. This compensation range is presented in good faith for candidates that are hired in these roles will be presented a salary within the range stated on the job posting
