Who You Are

Perfect Communications in Moorestown, NJ is seeking a detail-oriented Prepress Technician to join our production team. This is an on-site position. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing digital files and ensuring all materials are print-ready before they go to press. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a keen eye for quality and accuracy. This is a second shift position with a flexible starting time.

What You'll Do

  • Review and preflight digital files to ensure they meet print specifications and quality standards
  • Correct and optimize files for various printing processes, including color correction, image resolution, and proper bleeds
  • Perform file format conversions and prepare files for different output devices
  • Create and impose layouts according to press requirements and finishing specifications
  • Troubleshoot file issues and work with clients or designers to resolve problems
  • Manage color and ensure accurate color matching
  • Proof files digitally and create hard proofs when necessary
  • Maintain organized digital asset management and file archiving systems
  • Collaborate with press operators and production staff to ensure smooth workflow
  • Stay current with industry software and printing technologies
  • Output and unload plates from automated plate processor

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in prepress, printing, or graphic production
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro)
  • Strong understanding of color management, file formats, and print production processes
  • Knowledge of preflight software and RIP systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of setting up variable data files or scripting abilities is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with automation workflows and hot folder systems
  • Familiarity with various printing methods (offset, digital, wide format)
  • Knowledge of PDF/X standards and industry best practices
  • Understanding of bindery and finishing processes
