Who You Are

We’re looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our Product Development team. This role focuses on finding and qualifying new products and suppliers—whether for specific internal requests or broader product line expansion opportunities.

 

You’ll work closely with our Director of Product Development and collaborate across departments (Marketing, Sales, and Operations) to identify trends, source new materials, and ensure our products meet the high standards our customers expect.

 

This is a sourcing role—not a purchasing role—perfect for someone who loves research, organization, and relationship-building.

What You'll Do

Product Sourcing & Research
• Research, identify, and qualify new suppliers and products to support innovation and line growth.
• Gather samples, specifications, and cost data to support decision-making.
• Evaluate suppliers based on capability, quality, lead time, and alignment with RCB’s standards.

 

Vendor Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Communicate regularly with vendors to ensure accurate, up-to-date product information.
• Support vendor onboarding and maintain organized supplier documentation.

 

Product Certifications & Documentation
• Collect, verify, and organize product certifications, including BPI, FDA, SFI, FSC, and compostability documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and link certifications to relevant SKUs and materials.
• Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, and Marketing teams to ensure certification data is accessible for internal and customer use.
• Track renewal dates and proactively request updated documentation.

 

Cross-Department Collaboration
• Partner with Marketing and Sales to identify trends, product gaps, and customer-driven opportunities.
• Share sourcing updates, timelines, and supplier details with key internal teams.
• Work alongside Product Development and Operations to ensure all sourced products meet quality and cost expectations.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in sourcing, vendor relations, or product development (packaging, printing, or consumer goods experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of global sourcing and supplier evaluation processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (Rootstock/Salesforce a plus).
