TAG’s mission is to Connect, Promote, Influence and Educate Georgia’s technology ecosystem to advance the innovation economy. Through those four foundational pillars TAG serves the technology community, helping to support, grow and ignite tech leaders, companies and the overall Georgia economy.

Connect

TAG brings together major players across multiple industry verticals through events, professional societies and mentorships, drawing from the breadth and depth of Georgia’s vast tech ecosystem and TAG’s 30,000+ members to make lasting connections.

Promote

TAG tells the story of why Georgia is a top location for technology and provides brand visibility across a vibrant tech space. High-profile awards, digital marketing and global events spotlight Georgia’s technology workforce, and our statewide technology community.

Influence

TAG fosters business development and enables companies and leaders to influence our state’s future, making sure we have great policies and a favorable business climate for GA’s technology sector to grow and thrive.

Educate

Engagement with TAG enables companies to educate audiences and position themselves as key players. TAG also helps prepare the workforce for today and the future through the TAG-Ed, which promotes robust STEM education opportunities.

Who You Are

The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) seeks an entrepreneurial, highly organized, and strategic leader to oversee the business of TAG’s premier events and conferences. This role focuses on driving revenue, retention, engagement, and growth across TAG’s most visible and impactful experiences, including:

  • C-Level and Executive Events

The ideal candidate is not an event producer, but a business-minded architect of experiences—someone who can cultivate sponsors, speakers, partners, and audiences while ensuring that every event remains financially successful, creatively fresh, and aligned with TAG’s mission to connect, promote, influence, and educate Georgia’s technology ecosystem.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership & Event Business Management

  • Develop and execute annual and multi-year business strategies for TAG’s events portfolio to meet financial, membership, and engagement goals.
  • Identify opportunities to grow event revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, ticketing, and new experiential formats.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (staff, contractors, volunteers) to ensure a balanced approach to innovation, brand consistency, and profitability and to deliver high-quality experiences on time and on budget.
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to ensure a balanced approach to innovation, brand consistency, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with TAG’s senior leadership, councils, and marketing team to align event strategies with organizational priorities and audience growth targets.
  • Contribute to TAG’s overall strategic direction and participate in organization-wide leadership initiatives.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and creativity in representing TAG to external stakeholders and partners.

Revenue & Sponsorship Development

  • Partner with the TAG sales team to design creative, high-value sponsorship packages and activations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors, exhibitors, and community partners.
  • Oversee sponsor fulfillment and ensure measurable ROI for TAG and partners alike.

Experience Design & Innovation

  • Create thoughtful event themes and session topics that are relevant to the technology industry.
  • Lead the creative visioning process for each major event, ensuring content, design, and networking experiences are contemporary and differentiated.
  • Explore new event models—both live and hybrid—that increase accessibility, impact, and engagement across local, regional, national, and international audiences.
  • Curate compelling speaker lineups, award programs, and unique attendee experiences that position TAG as a thought leader and convener of innovation.

Vendor & Budget Management

    • Source, negotiate, and manage event production vendors, agencies, and consultants.
    • Oversee budgets and financial models for each event, ensuring strong fiscal control and maximum return on investment.
    • Monitor performance metrics, expense ratios, and post-event analysis to inform continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • 8–10+ years of experience in event, conference, or experiential business management, preferably within associations, technology, or innovation sectors.
  • Proven success in driving event revenue, managing sponsorships, and achieving growth goals.
  • Strong understanding of event economics, financial reporting, and ROI-based decision-making.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives concurrently.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in event programming, content curation, and audience engagement.
  • Experience managing vendors and third-party production firms.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with C-level executives and sponsors.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work within limited budgets and maximize impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile
