Who You Are

The Workforce Solutions Specialist provides direct services to the Senior Community Service Employment Program participants in conjunction with partnering agencies, adhering to Easterseals, Inc. and Department of Labor guidelines.

What You'll Do

Workforce Solutions duties and outreach:

  • Market, recruit and promote to potential employers the benefits and employment supportive services provided by Easterseals including addressing employee’s special needs.
  • Make appropriate employment referrals based on participant qualifications and conducts necessary follow-up with participants once employment is secured.
  • Conducts intensive marketing and job development activities to secure placements, including informational interviews, cold calling, letters, presentations, business networking, etc.

Case Management:

  • Recruits program participants and Host Agency training sites; matches participants to Host Agency training sites based upon participant needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Conducts eligibility interviews for SCSEP program applicants and determines eligibility using Department of Labor guidelines.
  • Identifies individual barriers to employment, maintains and updates knowledge of community providers and services offered, and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Conducts or oversees a formal orientation for new participants as needed.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate participant files, database information and reports required by Easterseals, Inc. and the Department of Labor.
  • Manages and ensures confidentiality of all files and records, maintaining compliance with the organization’s guidelines, policies, and Department of Labor regulations.


Community Collaboration Initiatives:

  • Stays informed of community, agency, and program information through inter-office communications, attendance at staff meetings, participation in professional development activities and other community networking events.
  • Markets Easterseals and SCSEP to the community through public speaking engagements, employer contacts, etc., for the purpose of identifying placing and training opportunities for participants.
  • Provides adequate on and off-site supports to participants and employees to ensure job success.
  • Contributes to an organizational culture of innovation and exemplary performance
  • Understands and endorses the mission and values of Easterseals.
  • Performs other duties as requested

  • Must exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate initiative, motivation and excellent communication skills
  • Spanish speaking preferred

Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000 annually
