Who You Are

The Powder Coat Finisher is responsible for preparing, coating, curing, and inspecting metal parts using powder coating equipment to ensure a high-quality, durable finish that meets company and customer specifications.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and hanging parts on powder coat line
  • Apply powder coating using spray guns and electrostatic equipment
  • Monitor and operate powder line, and oven according to specified temperatures and times
  • Inspect finished products for proper coverage, color consistency, thickness, and defects
  • Perform touch-ups and rework as needed
  • Maintain powder coating equipment and keep work area (spray booth and oven) clean and organized
  • Empty recycled powder collection drum and bake scrap powder in baking bags to make ready for disposal.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Maintain powder coat inventory using in-house software
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing Agent in ordering the basic powder coat colors stocked by Architectural Grille
  • Work with purchasing agent to ensure enough powder is on hand for specific jobs
  • Document work by entering into data collection software
  •  report any issues to supervisors

What You Bring

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Previous powder coating or auto body painting experience preferred (additional on the job training may be provided)
    • Basic knowledge of powder coating processes, materials, and equipment
    • Ability to read travelers and follow instructions
    • Strong attention to detail and quality
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

    • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
    • Time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Team-oriented with a positive work attitude
    • Basic mechanical aptitude

    Work Environment

    • Manufacturing/industrial setting
    • Exposure to heat, noise, and powder coating materials
    • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

What We Offer

Introductory Period: 90 Days

After Thirty Days:

Paid Time Off (PTO):

  • Beginning 1/1 after completion of six months: 5 days PTO’s

  • Beginning 1/1 after completion of four years: 9 days PTO’s
  • Beginning 1/1 after completion of five years: 10 days PTO’s
  • Beginning 1/1 after completion of six through nine years: 15 days PTO’s
  • Beginning 1/1 after completion of 10 years plus: 20 days PTO’s

After One Year:

Salary: $22.00- $24.00 per hour based on experience
