Who You Are

BMP Doors is seeking a Senior Purchasing & Materials Manager to lead and optimize our purchasing and materials management processes at our manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, PA.

 

This role is responsible for ensuring that materials, components and supplies are available to support production while maintaining optimal inventory levels and controlling costs. The position requires a hands-on leader who can analyse and improve purchasing systems, manage supplier relationships and coordinate international sourcing and import logistics.

 

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational execution, ensuring that the supply chain runs efficiently and that production is never interrupted due to material shortages.

What You'll Do

· Plan and manage purchasing activities to ensure efficient and adequate inventory levels.

· Monitor inventory levels and maintain defined safety stock thresholds to support uninterrupted production.

· Implement and manage reorder points and replenishment processes to ensure timely purchasing when stock reaches minimum levels.

· Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while negotiating favorable pricing, terms, and contracts.

· Analyse market trends, supplier pricing and supply conditions to forecast demand and reduce procurement risks.

· Coordinate international sourcing and manage import shipments and container logistics for purchased materials and components.

· Work with logistics partners and customs brokers to ensure smooth import processes and optimize tariff and landed cost outcomes.

· Ensure all purchased materials meet required quality standards and technical specifications.

· Supervise, mentor, and develop purchasing department personnel.

· Collaborate closely with production, planning, and sales teams to align purchasing strategies with operational needs.

· Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities through improved sourcing strategies and supplier development.

What You Bring

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

· 5–7+ years of purchasing, materials management, or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience with international sourcing and import logistics.

· Strong understanding of inventory management, supply planning, and procurement processes.

· Knowledge of business and management principles including budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation.

· Proficiency with:

o Inventory management systems

o Contract management tools

o Project management software

o Microsoft Office Suite

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Competitive salary based on experience. The range for this role is $100,000-$110,000 per year.
