Fulfill, the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, has been dedicated to addressing hunger in the Jersey Shore community since 1984. Our mission is to accelerate food security throughout Monmouth & Ocean Counties by leading a collaborative movement that connects people to food and related resources while also addressing systemic barriers to self-sufficiency and well-being. Fulfill proudly works with a network of nearly 300 partners, including soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters to provide 1.3 million meals per month to more than 130,000 families, children, seniors and veterans in need. Committed to more than just food distribution, Fulfill also offers connections to affordable healthcare options, Medicaid, SNAP and other services to help neighbors lead healthy lives with the food they need to thrive.

Our headquarters is in Neptune with a satellite branch (The BEAT Center) in Toms River.

Who You Are

The Resource Connections Specialist assists low- and middle-income individuals with applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and affordable health insurance (Marketplace or GetCovered NJ), and other benefits or services at multiple outreach sites in the community to provide mobile outreach and application assistance services. The percentage of time devoted to each service will vary depending on Fulfill’s priorities.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Travels to multiple sites and events in the community to provide outreach and assist clients with SNAP, healthcare, and other benefits.
  • Submits applications or recertifications, troubleshoots issues, and follows up with clients requesting SNAP and healthcare (Marketplace or NJ FamilyCare) assistance.
  • Refers clients to other assistance they may be eligible to receive (utilities, WIC, housing assistance, etc).
  • Assists in working with county and state social service offices, sharing relevant information and advocating on client’s behalf.
  • Maintains consistent, professional contact with agencies; adheres to professional and ethical guidelines in all client interactions including appropriate collection and management of client information.
  • Maintains Fulfill’s secure database accurately to track services provided and application outcomes.
  • Compiles, maintains, and communicates timely reports for funders and other program stakeholders, as required.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other members of the Resource Connections Team.
  • Performs other duties related to the Resource Connections program as needed.
  • Collaborates with other Fulfill departments and programs to provide integrated services.
  • Performs other assignments, as required.

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience related to counseling, customer service or social work.
  • Experience providing assistance to clients with SNAP, GetCovered NJ and/or other benefits.
  • Strong writing, communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, French, Mandarin, Chinese or Portuguese preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required for work at other locations.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work, as required.

Compensation & Work Environment

Salary range: Fulfill is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

$47,000-$55,000 per year

 

NJ passed a Pay Transparency Law which requires NJ based hiring to include a compensation range on each job posting. This compensation range is presented in good faith for candidates that are hired in these roles will be presented a salary within the range stated on the job posting.
