Construction Inspector

L.K. McLean Associates, D.P.C. (LKMA) is a well-established consulting engineering and land surveying firm with over 90 professionals serving New York since 1950. Our Construction Inspection Department continues to grow as we provide Resident Engineering and Inspection (REI) services for NYSDOT, Nassau County, Suffolk County, municipalities, and airport clients throughout Long Island.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join our transportation construction team. This position offers the opportunity to work on major highway, bridge, traffic signal, streetscape, airport, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• NICET Level II Certification preferred.
• Construction inspection experience.
• Thorough knowledge of NYSDOT Standard Specifications, construction practices, and inspection procedures.
• Experience inspecting one or more of the following:
• Highway reconstruction
• Bridge rehabilitation
• Traffic signal construction
• Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
• Utility and streetscape improvements
• Ability to accurately prepare daily reports, maintain project documentation, and communicate effectively with contractors, owners, and project staff.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.

• Experience with the following is considered a plus:

  • NYSDOT SiteManager
  • EBO
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
  • Soils & Aggregate Certification
  • OSHA 30
  • NETTCP
  • NACE Coating Inspection
  • Bridge inspection experience

Salary Range: $50-$55 per hour
