Who You Are

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting raw materials and manufactured products to ensure they conform to quality standards and company specifications. This role documents inspection results, identifies defects, and helps maintain product quality throughout the manufacturing process. The inspector works closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to support compliance, and promote continuous improvement.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Own the Quality - Be responsible for the quality of the product moving from one operation to another. Ensure components / compounds are acceptable prior to releasing to production. Make sure all equipment is calibrated and operable. Attention to detail is critical.
• Be the Communications Conduit - Report to supervision (production / quality) any defective condition or unusual results/trends found in the applicable areas.
• Drive Improvement - Identify opportunities for improvement in your area as well as production. Example: more accurate measurement method, improved inspection, etc.
• Assist in Training - Provide examples of defective product and explanation of reason it’s defective.

What You'll Do

•Mechanical Drawing interpretation.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections in accordance with drawings, specifications, customer orders, and other established procedures.
• Recording inspection findings into quality database (eQMS).
• Analyzes data and advises Operators, Supervisors, and Managers of trends in processes.
• Document and communicate product nonconformance to the quality management team.
• Calibration of Metrology inspection equipment.
• Perform other assignments as required by the Quality Assurance Manager.
• Perform the job with minimal supervision.
• Ensures all measuring instruments used are calibrated and are appropriate for the inspection procedure being performed.
• Records work on inspection documents or other data collection media as required.
• Ensures proper identification of all accepted and rejected material, including further processing documents as required.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment consistent with the established standards.
• Assists coworkers in performing a variety of operations to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Prepares, completes, and submits all records and reports in a timely manner.
• Transports work within the facility as required.
• Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
• Maintains production, quality, and safety standards in the performance of duties.
• Reports all accidents or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.
• Reports and documents any conditions affecting the quality or quantity of work being performed.
• Attends all scheduled meetings as requested.
• Performs other duties as required.

What You Bring

EXPERIENCE:

At least 1-2 years previous experience, required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read and comprehend documents written in English (Spanish as well, preferred but not required), and interpret drawings, specifications and other general correspondence. Good communications skills are a must.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Ability to perform basic math functions, including English and Metric decimal system.

 

REASONING ABILITY
• Ability to carry out detailed, but not uninvolved written and verbal instructions. Must be able to interpret component drawings, specifications, and other written information and apply same to work assignments.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must occasionally be able to lift 25 lbs. when performing job duties. Physical demands associated with this position are consistent with a typical factory environment. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

What We Offer

COMPENSATION

$22.00-$29.00 per hour, depending on experience.

 

HOURS

•10am-6:30pm.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Work environment will include office, laboratory areas, and the factory. Noise levels are usually moderate for a manufacturing facility.
