Who You Are

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of our growing medical device company. As we prepare to commercialize our product in early 2027, the Controller will play an important role in building scalable financial processes, strengthening controls, and supporting Brixton through its transition from development stage to a commercial organization.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and prepare accurate financial statements.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and budget-to-actual analysis.
  • Hire and manage a small accounting and finance team
  • Coordinate annual audit, tax filings, and relationships with external accounting and tax partners.
  • Partner with the CFO and leadership team on financial planning and business decisions.
  • Develop financial processes and systems to support commercialization, including revenue recognition, inventory, cost accounting, purchasing, and order-to-cash processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Board and investor reporting as needed.
  • Help build and develop the finance function as Brixton grows.

What You Bring

Qualifications / Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including Controller or senior accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in AI technology with ability to learn.
  • Experience in a growing medical device, life sciences, manufacturing, or other product-based company strongly preferred.
  • Experience preparing an organization for commercialization and establishing inventory/cost accounting processes is a plus.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on in a small, fast-paced company.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and cGMP preferred.

What We Offer

  • Compensation: $150k - $160k, commensurate with experience.
