Who You Are

Field Expediters are responsible for managing request while working with the team to obtain application Approvals, PAAs, permits, sign offs, etc. Field Expediters work from within WVA’s Manhattan office and travel to City agencies.  The typical schedule for this role is Monday‐Friday 8:30am‐5:30pm with a one hour meal break or 8:30am‐5:00pm with a 30 minute meal break. 

What You'll Do

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Collaborative management of all alterations and projects to obtain approve from the Department of 
  • Buildings and all related city agencies 
  • Review plans for compliance with the NYC Building Code, NYC Zoning Resolution, NYS Multiple Dwelling 
  • Law, and all other codes/regulations applicable to buildings in NYC 
  • Researching and obtaining records from City agencies, including microfilm, folders, etc. 
  • Meet with Dept of Buildings employees, either in‐person, by phone, or online, to obtain approvals of work and non‐work applications, including all steps and documents related to full application approval 
  • Interact with WVA’s clients by phone, email, and in‐person meetings as necessary to coordinate strategies for obtaining approvals from the Dept of Buildings, Dept of Transportation, Landmarks Preservation Commission, Dept of Environmental Protection, Dept of Finance and any other City agencies, as necessary 
  • Assist with in-office tasks, including but not limited to scanning, sending packages, distributing mail and coordinating with vendors and IT 
  • Intra‐ and Inter‐ departmental assistance, as needed. 

What You Bring

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to perform required duties and responsibilities 
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Excel and Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat 
  • Excellent communication and social skills 
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment 
  • At least one of the following: a four‐year college degree, or a valid Class 2 Code and Zoning Representative license issued by the NYC Department of Buildings. 

What We Offer

Salary range: $75,000-$100,000 per year , depending on experience and qualifications
