Who You Are

The Sort Room Coordinator will work collaboratively with a strong volunteer base of individuals and group members to provide direct coordination of the receipt, inspection, handling, storage and distribution of salvage product through Fulfill to member agencies.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinates the daily activities involved in the receipt, inspection, cleaning/sanitizing, labeling, counting, categorizing, weighing and movement of salvage products received from donors.
  • Facilitates the introduction, provides training and oversight of procedures to volunteers and warehouse staff. Monitors and audits the adherence to the standard work and determines when additional training may be necessary.
  • Partners with Community Engagement Coordinator to identify volunteer opportunities.
  • Develops and implements plans for volunteer initiatives. Reviews volunteer schedules to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Directs the movement of donations into the salvage isolation room for sorting, using material handling equipment. Accurately, efficiently and safely stores items on racks, shelves, bins or refrigerated rooms/freezers according to product type, size, and expiration date or product code.
  • Reviews and fills out documents with accuracy. Maintains a trash log in accordance with procedures, complete data entry, and reports problems to supervisor in order to accurately record and track product in the warehouse management system.
  • Performs and oversees the sorting and inspection of products using visual inspections to identify damages, contamination, infestation, expiration or spoilage. Accepts or rejects products based on inspections to ensure requirements are met.
  • Performs quality control functions, including inventory audits, recording discrepancies, retrains volunteers as appropriate, and performs final audit of boxes before product leaves the facility for correct mislabeling, breakage, expiration or contamination.
  • Conducts facility inspections for pest control and cleanliness; inspects traps, completes control logs, and works with Pest Control contractors to eliminate and prevent problems.
  • Conducts equipment inspections to ensure equipment and facility are operational; advises supervisor of malfunctions, breakdowns and needed repairs or replacements.
  • Completes cleaning logs, performs and oversees the cleaning tasks according to an assigned zone and schedule as well as when tasked by supervisor. Maintains a clean and safe work area at all times including warehouse, grounds, bins and equipment. Performs
  • housekeeping when needed to include cleaning spills, keeping walk areas and exits clear and securing equipment and facility as required.
  • Builds good working relationships with Community Engagement Coordinator, volunteers, groups and Fulfill staff.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and speaks respectfully when interacting with staff, volunteers and the public.
  • Maintains CSFP inventory, produces allotted number of CSFP boxes each month, using specified products. Accurately receives and coordinates CSFP inventory to Logistics Supervisor
  • Performs inventory management transactions using CERES warehouse management software.
  • Completes all tasks in a safe manner. Reports all safety incidents and unsafe conditions to leadership.
  • Operations various pieces of material handling equipment safely to include pallet jacks, hand dollies, reach truck and forklift in order to avoid personal injury to self, others and damage to product, equipment or facility.
  • Completes general maintenance work when directed by supervisor.
  • Comfortable standing and walking during an entire shift.
  • Ability to work in various environments and temperatures to include indoor, outdoor, freezers and coolers.
  • Adheres to all AIB, Feeding America, DOH, DOA and OHSA standards.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Warehouse experience preferred at a food related industry.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and/or complete training to include pallet rider, forklift and reach truck.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with volunteers, and collaborate with a high level of engagement.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Fulfill.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities, and effectively work with a diverse group of volunteers and staff.
  • A high level of personal and professional integrity is essential.

What We Offer

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Goal and deadline oriented; extensive contact with volunteers; periodically works extended hours.
Warehouse environment; extensive walking, standing, bending, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.

 

Compensation: 

•$22.00-$24.00 per hour.
